The Bridlespur Hunt Club is a St Louis emblem with a long and rich history. It has hosted an annual horse show since the 1930s, a time when saddle horses and Hackneys competed with the hunters and jumpers. Over the years, like most shows, the breeds separated and Bridlespur became an exclusively hunter/jumper show. In 2011, however, it was proposed that the Bridlespur Horse Show again include classes for saddle horses much like the classic Devon or Germantown shows. Instead of combining the breeds, though, Bridlespur Hunt Club elected to turn the entire show over to Saddlebreds and Hackneys and became the new Bridlespur Horse Show.
Come witness this spectacular 81th Annual hosting of the Bridlespur Society Horse Show at the National Equestrian Center, and experience the beauty of these breeds under saddle and in harness. This event is open to the public with concessions and bar service available on-site.
